You are cordially invited to attend a breakfast briefing where Sir David John KCMG, Chairman of the BSI Group and Premier Oil plc will share his experiences on doing business in Asia.

Sir David was Chairman of Premier Oil plc (1998-2009), Adviser to the Calor Gas Board (2003-2009), Chairman of Balfour Beatty plc (2003-2008) and Chairman of the BOC Group plc (1996-2002) – all companies with a strong presence in Asia. In 2002, he became Chairman of the BSI Group, which has expanded internationally, particularly into Asia. He was a member of the CBI President’s Committee (1996-2002) and chaired the CBI International Committee in this period. He served on the CBI International Advisory Board from 2002-2010.

In 1981, he joined the Inchcape company, Gray Mackenzie, in Bahrain, becoming Chief Executive in 1986, he later became Chairman after a move to Inchcape Berhad in Singapore in 1987. He was also a member of the Advisory Panel on Sir Richard Wilson’s Cabinet Committee Review of Export Promotion and Overseas Investment, which resulted in the setting up of British Trade International of which he was a Vice Chairman from 1999 to 2002.

Sir David has been knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in June 1999 for Services to British Business Interests Overseas.

The meeting will adopt the usual Asia House format and all comments will be unattributable.
