November is another big month of hip hop at Plan B in Brixton...

Kenny Dope from legendary production outfit Masters At Work flys in to play a rare hip hop, boogie and old school house set on Friday 12th November.

Then the following Friday (the 19th), The Doctor's Orders continue their monthly On The Real party with a special tribute to J Dilla following the premiere of the ‘Suite For Ma Dukes’ film. Special guests include Detroit MC Elzhi, Dilla collaborator Phat Kat plus beats from Slum Village’s very own – DJ Dez.

Brining the month to an end are the Deadly Rhythm boys, who have joined forces with Glaswegian music / art collective Lucky Me with a headline set from Montreal's 22 year-old hip hop phenomenon – Lunice, who flys in to play his debut UK show alongside a live UK debut from Cubic Zirconia (fronted by Platinum Pied Pipers collaborator Tiombe Lockhart)

FRIDAY 12TH NOVEMBER
JAM HOT WITH KENNY DOPE (HIP HOP SET)
9PM - 4AM
Little Louie Vega and Kenny Dope Gonzalez (aka Masters At Work) are probably one of the most respected and prolific of all of the producers to come out of NYC in the 90s, with more classic records to their name than most.

So we are very pleased that Kenny Dope has agreed to come and play a very rare hip hop, boogie and old school house set at Plan B (he hasn’t played a show like this in London for almost ten years). In the last few months he has returned to his hip hop roots and was keen to come to London and do something different from the endless house nights he plays at.

As well as golden age hip hop and some serious turntable skills, you are guaranteed to hear some classic funk breaks and maybe even a few of those incredible Masters At Work remixes.

Support comes from the Eglo Records crew, with one of our favourite producers of the moment - Funkineven, heading south with bossman Alexander Nut and a warm up set from East London's Nonsense crew.

If you want a taste of what is to come have a listen to Kenny's hip hop mix on Soundcloud.

FRIDAY 19TH NOVEMBER
ON THE REAL
ELZHI, PHAT KAT, DJ DEZ (SLUM VILLAGE)
10PM - 4AM
When it comes to celebrating the works of J Dilla in London none do it harder or better than The Doctors Orders. Tonight they mark the release of the incredible ‘Suite For Ma Dukes’ film and soundtrack. The film documents the recreation of much of J Dilla’s best known work by his friends Bilal, Dwele, Amp Fiddler and Talib Kweli and a 60 piece orchestra. After the premiere in West London, On The Real host an afterparty featuring Detroit MC Elzhi, Dilla collaborator Phat Kat plus beats from Slum Village’s very own – DJ Dez. DJ 279 and Spin Doctor complete a heavyweight bill.

FRIDAY 26TH NOVEMBER
DEADLY RHYTHM VS LUCKY ME
LUNICE, MIKE SLOTT, KINGDOM & GUESTS
10PM - 4AM
Following a year of ground breaking parties throughout the capital with the likes of Numbers, We Fear Silence and Earnest Endeavours, Deadly Rhythm collaborate with Glaswegian music / art collective Lucky Me for one of their last shows before 2011.

Lucky Me are at the forefront of the UK’s involvement in the still nameless hip hop / electronic beat variant and with releases on the label featuring early work by Hudson Mohawke and Rustie, Dom and Martin have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with and this line up represents some of the best new artists on the label.

Diplo collaborator Lunice flys in to play his debut UK show. Mike Slott, who is often compared with the likes of Flying Lotus and Nosaj Thing, plays a rare UK date, with DJ sets from Kingdom (Night Slugs) and Optimum (who runs the Hum & Buzz label with Ikonika). The New York based band Cubic Zirconia, fronted by the supremely talented Tiombe Lockhart (who most of us know through her work with the Platinum Pied Pipers), fly in for their live UK debut, with The Blessings completing another heavyweight line-up.
