Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to Visit Washington DC
The Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, is scheduled to visit the United States, where he is due to meet the US president, Barack Obama, in Washington DC.This will be the first official visit from the Palestinian side following Israel’s recent attack against a flotilla of aid ships that was travelling to Gaza which led to the death of nine Turkish activists and the wounding of many. The aid ships carried 466 voluntary aid workers of which 350 were Turkish and the rest from 32 different countries.
